It's a nice looking car first off, has everything I need in the cabin however it's performance is subpar, the motor hesitates often but what can you expect from a 3 cylinder, the turbo is nice but the traction system in my own experience is the worst, luckily I can turn it off, it's great on gas tho, Also the gauges are digital and are slow to show on the screen often, the Sensor that detects you are too close to someone doesn't work well and sometimes goes off when I'm not even close to the person in front of me, which is annoying. Has decent handling however it isn't all wheel drive so that's an issue for a Subaru guy myself, it's reliable so far however after I pay it down some more I'm trading it for something else, not a fan of the Trax, other people may disagree but in my opinion I don't care for it.
    • Best car for the money

I have a 2024 2RS with the moonroof and wireless charging. The flat bottom steering wheel is extra nice when you get in or get out of the car, especially if you are a big person, like me. It gets great gas mileage, and it has plenty of power, contrary to what you may have heard. The golden yellow turns heads, and most are surprised, like I was, at the low price, considering it has heated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, moonroof like cars which costs tens of thousands of dollars more. Safety: This is a big deal. It has blind spot monitor, adaptive Cruise control and these things make it safer to drive. The backup camera has dynamic lines showing you the approximate path of where you are going when backing up. The backup camera is fabutastic with great colors, dynamic lines and a large screen. My car has almost 4000 miles and my wife loves it. She never has any problem finding the car in a sea of thousands of cars in a parking lot, because the gold color sticks out for miles. Now, the bad: No car is perfect. This is no exception. The engine noise, with the small turbo, is more than I would like. I guess the worst part is that its "not a buick" and does not have a buick ride. Buick does make a "Trax" with its upgrades and calls it an Encore. If you are a "smooth ride affectionado" and are willing to pay more, I would recommend the Buick instead. For most people, tho, who want a new car under between 21,000 and 26,000, the Trax is the best bet. Its much larger than the Nissan Kicks, which is in a similar price range. I have previously driven a Honda CRV hybrid, but when Honda raised the price of a similar equipped (SEL) CRV hybrid to over $40,000, I quit buying Hondas. And, forget the Toyota RAV 4 hybrid, because those are never available, and, if you do find one, you dont get to pick the color or options, you drive what they got, and pay almost 40,000 for those, also. The Mazda CX5 may be a good "half way" improvement. The CX5 is probably 30 something thousand but a bit more upscale, but not an outrageous fortune like the Toyota and Honda. In short the 2024 TRAX is a bargain for those who need a low priced new car. It has more value than any other car, with a possible exception of the Maverick. (If you want to drive a baby truck instead of a car).

The 2024 Trax is a small SUV with plenty of room for a small family. The car looks great, a huge upgrade from the previous Trax models. Good gas mileage and plenty of entertainment and gadgets. Fair-sized trunk for the size of the vehicle. Good pickup and comfortable to drive over long distances.
