The Nissan Foundation Supports The Community

A Global Vision to Enrich People's Lives

Nissan is about community, and the corporation shows its support to local communities by working to improve the lives of people in and around the areas where it operates. The Nissan Foundation's mission is to build community by teaching the value of diversity. Find out more about how Nissan supports its communities by contacting Jeff Schmitt Nissan.

A Long History of Giving

The Nissan Foundation has a 30-year history of giving. The foundation has awarded almost $14 million to 150 different organizations throughout its history. As a company, Nissan believes in diversity, and rewards organizations that promote respect and understanding between different cultural groups and backgrounds. Every year, the Nissan Foundation provides grants to support those who work to educate others about the benefit of a more inclusive and diverse society.

Nissan Neighbors Makes a Difference

Nissan Neighbors is an initiative that focuses on local communities. It is dedicated to providing charitable contributions and in-kind support to nonprofit organizations that work in three specific areas. These are humanitarian aid, education, and the environment. Nissan employees make a difference by donating their time and expertise. You can see them volunteering at clean-up day at the Nashville Zoo, volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Middle TN, and even helping high school students from the Black and Latino Achievers program by talking to them about potential careers.

Organizations can apply for the Nissan Neighbors program if they are a nonprofit, support one of the Nissan Neighbors areas of focus, and serve a community within Nissan's affiliate locations.

Environmental Goals

Nissan is committed to making our planet a better place by working to build a sustainable society. Nissan contributes to this goal by manufacturing more environmentally friendly cars and working with other organizations such as Tread Lightly to help keep recreation areas beautiful, accessible, and open for future generations.

The Nissan Foundation Grant Helps on All Levels

Every year the Nissan Foundation awards the Nissan Foundation Grant to organizations that help support its mission. Some of the latest grant recipients include the Autry Museum of the American West in California, The U.S. Committee for Refugees & Immigrants, Inc in Michigan, and the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum in Texas.

Organizations can apply for a grant by filling out an application. All organizations must be nonprofits and be more than three years old. They also need to serve in Nissan's affiliate locations. It's important to Nissan that the organizations they support have similar missions and share its values. They also look for nonprofits that demonstrate creative solutions.

A Company Determined to Make Changes

Businesses are an important part of the change in our society, and Nissan is determined to do its part. It starts within the company but reaches much further through grants, working with other organizations, and employees volunteering. Find out more at Jeff Schmitt Nissan.
